What is the International Day of Clean Energy and Why Does it Matter?

The International Day of Clean Energy is a global occasion to raise awareness about transition to clean energy, preserving the planet's resources, and adopting more sustainable practices. Companies, like RuB Inc., play a pivotal role in this transition, contributing to a more efficient and eco-friendly future.

RuB Inc.'s Actions for Energy Transition

At our Italian HQ, where our manufacturing plant is located, we implement various tasks to enhance energy efficiency and reduce environmental impact:

  • Renewable energy: The installation of photovoltaic panels on the roof of our facility enables us to generate clean energy. In 2023, panels produced 788 MWh, meeting a significant portion of our energy needs and increasing production by 38% compared to the previous year.

  • Efficient production technologies: We have introduced smart machinery and new burners equipped with inverter technology, resulting in a 17% reduction in overall energy consumption between 2022 and 2023.

  • Heating efficiency: The reduction in natural gas usage was primarily due to the installation of insulation cladding at our plant, which resulted in a 58% decrease in gas consumption between 2022 and 2023.

Future Projects: Innovate for the Planet at RuB Inc.

We are increasingly investing resources in sustainability, developing solutions for an inclusive energy transition, including:

  • Expansion of photovoltaic systems: Increasing renewable energy production to support our operations.

  • Heat recovery systems: Using the heat generated by process machinery to warm facilities and water, further reducing reliance on third parties energy.

Why Sustainability is Crucial for Manufacturers

Manufacturing companies have a responsibility to lead the transition to a sustainable economic model. At RuB Inc., our investment in clean technologies aims not only at reducing our environmental footprint, but also at increasing transparency and accountability to our customers, employees, and the wider community.

The transition is a long and complex process: we must consciously make sure that we have enough resources to remain competitive and maintain the quality of the products our customers rely on. We have turned our business model into a sustainable one.
