Compressed air is a vital power source for many industries, driving tools, machinery, and automation systems. To ensure smooth, safe operation, reliable flow control components are essential. RuB ball valves are engineered specifically to meet the demands of pneumatic applications, offering long-term performance and durability, even in high-pressure, high-cycle environments.
Why choose RuB ball valves for compressed air?
Compressed air systems often operate under constant pressure and mechanical stress, making the use of robust, high-performance components essential. RuB ball valves stand out for their ability to handle industrial challenges, offering several key benefits:
- Durability: Made from high-quality materials such as brass, stainless steel, and aluminum, RuB valves are engineered to reliable long-term performance, even in demanding environments.
- Reliable sealing: These valves provide excellent sealing, preventing leaks and ensuring stable pressure and efficient system operation.
- Compact design: With a design that maximizes space without sacrificing durability, RuB valves are perfect for both small and large compressed air systems.
- Compliance with key certifications: RuB ball valves are certified for a wide range of applications and markets, meeting various industry safety standards, including OSHA (Occupational Safety and Health Administration) regulations.

Applications for RuB ball valves
RuB valves excel in compressed air and inert gas systems, serving diverse industries. In industrial and automotive environments, they are commonly used in production line automation, air tool safety (e.g. drills, grinders, impact wrenches), pneumatic instrumentation, compressors, control panels, etc.
Beyond industrial applications, RuB valves play an important role in domestic plumbing and heating systems, where they control hot and cold water and filling systems in toilets and washing machines. Their compact size and reliable sealing also make them ideal for appliances like coffee machines and beverage dispensers, ensuring consistent flow control.
Overview of main RuB products for compressed air
- S.34 NPT: sizes range from 1/8” through 1/2”. These ISO 228 mini ball valves are suitable for panel mounting and are designed for light-duty pneumatic installations. Rated for 200 PSI non-shock cold working pressure, they are also available with male/female threads. Various handle configurations and options are offered to accommodate different installation requirements.
- S.35 NPT: sizes range from 1/8” to 1/2”. These compact mini ball valves are designed for high-pressure applications, with a rating of 450 PSI non-shock cold working pressure. S.35 ball valves are also available with male/female threads, various handle options, and upon request can be supplied with an aluminum body, ISO 7/1 BSPT taper threads, or dezincification-resistant brass CW602N.
- S.39 NPT: sizes range from 1/8” to 1/4”. These forged brass micro valves are built for high-pressure use up to 900 PSI non-shock cold working pressure, offering higher performance than other mini and/or micro valves currently on the market. S.39 ball valves are used in fluid dynamics, with seals made of materials that are compatible with refrigerated technical gases in the HVAC field, or for supplying compressed air tools. Custom options include various handle configurations, thread types, and, upon request, different brass alloys or aluminum.
- S.93 downstream exhaust: sizes range from 1/4” to 2”. These valves feature a full port, forged brass body with an automatic draining system that blocks the air supply to pneumatic tools when closed. A muffler can also be fitted to reduce system noise. Ideal for applications requiring compliance with OSHA safety regulations, the S.93 automatically exhausts residual air pressure when closed. It comes equipped with a patented, tamper-proof lockable handle, which can only be locked in the closed position for enhanced safety. The handle is made of GEOMET®-coated carbon steel (patent no. 7074 B/90) with a thick PVC dip coating, providing thermal protection and electrical insulation for the operator. Custom options include a stainless steel ball (1.4401/AISI 316) and the option for a T-handle.
